OUR PURPOSE AND MISSION
South Butler Community Meals on Wheels is dedicated to the charitable and appropriate aid of its neighbors in need. Our purpose is to serve nutritious meals and provide outreach and fellowship for the elderly, shut-ins, invalids, and isolated persons in our community.
We strive to allow those in our community, who would otherwise be dependent or forced to relocate, to remain independent and to stay in the comfort and peace of their own homes.
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and make the entire mission possible. Our organization is a community ministry that seeks to utilize and to recruit volunteers from all areas of our community (south central Butler County), and to provide our volunteers with a satisfying and fulfilling opportunity to reach out to our mutual neighbors in need.
South Butler Community Meals on Wheels is an affiliate of the Glade Run Presbyterian Church. We receive no government funding.
In a world that sometimes seems to isolate and ignore the elderly, sick, and unwanted, we pledge to serve those who need us, as if each were our own mother, father, daughter, or son.
We pledge to serve the lonely, sick, elderly, handicapped, and unloved. Not only with the food they so urgenty need, but also with understanding, patience, smiles, and listening ears. For it is through us that those we serve realize a future without fear.
We pledge to work together, never forgetting whom we serve and why we serve. For if we cannot relate to each other, and if we cannot cooperate with each other, we cannot give fully to those who need us.
We pledge to give of ourselves, never forgetting that in the giving, we also receive the gift.
